Geotheta has been an avid supporter of social betterment programmes for over a decade.

In 2022, the company decided to streamline its activities by introducing some of these programmes to their clients, the large mining houses, and to the communities surrounding these mines. The first of these is based on the book The Way to Happiness

It addresses the challenges often faced by South Africans: crime, corruption, vandalism, theft, murder and violence. The Way to Happiness instils core values like honesty, integrity, and kindness. This practical guide has a demonstrated track record of reducing crime and enhancing life quality, evidenced by crime rates dropping in Colombia, Los Angeles inner-cities, Harlem, New York, and even communities in South Africa, following the wide scale distribution of the book.

Our clients work closely with the communities around the mines, doing amazing upliftment projects to make life better for the local community. The Way to Happiness fits in well with such initiatives. An example would be where a company sponsors a new school for a local community. Using the section from The Way to Happiness on Safeguard and Improve your environment, the learners, educators and parents can learn how to take care of their new school, keeping it clean and in good shape so that it can serve the community into the future.
